IS THE UK-KENYA TECH HUB?


The UK-Kenya Tech Hub forms part of the International Tech Hub network delivered by DCMS (Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport), under a UK government initiative designed to promote digital inclusion and inclusive growth of the digital ecosystems in partner countries. Alongside Kenya, there are hubs in Nigeria, South Africa, India, Indonesia and Brazil.

The International Tech Hubs are expert teams which work to stimulate local digital economies, build high-end digital skills, and forge innovation partnerships between local tech sectors and international businesses. DOES THE APPLICATION PROCESS WORK?

The UK-Kenya Tech Hub provides fully funded spots for successful applicants to join the Future Females Business School programme. Please make sure you meet all of the below requirements before applying. The application is a text-based survey submission. If part 1 of your application is successful, you will be contacted by our team for part 2 of the applications which is an interview with one of our team members. 

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must be Kenyan citizens

The business must utilise technology (i.e. your business is app based or an online platform)

The business must impact respective communities/ industries

How does the application process work?
The application is a text-based survey submission (through the link above). If part.1 of your application is successful, you will be contacted by our team for pt.2 of the application, which is an interview with one of our team members.

What is the timeline?
The programme is 3 months, covering 10 actionable topics to drive a step-change in your business.

Is there a fee involved?
If applicants meet the correct requirements, they are eligible for a fully funded spot offered by UK-Kenya Tech Hub, which is determined during the interview with one of our team members. Successful applicants will only be asked to pay a commitment fee of KES 1300 to secure their spot.

What are the application requirements?
Applicants have to be Kenyan female entrepreneur with a HealthTech business or HealthTech business idea, that have the potential to have a positive social impact in the world. Your eligibility will be assessed during the application period.

What is the time commitment during the programme?
The most successful participants will spend 3 to 4 hours a week progressing through the Business School content, and engaging with their coaches and peers. Like anything in life, what you put in is what you get out! Members will be required to complete 80% of the programme in order to graduate.

Will this programme work for my business?
The core programme content will equip you with lean startup strategies and resources that are applicable and transferable across different HealthTech industries, so you can use them not just in your current business, but as you progress in your entrepreneurial journey.
